Monster Hunter LTD Part 1 1.0

DOOM is one of the oldest FPSes in existence, and its engine is famously so robust that it can run on pretty much anything and also create pretty much anything.  From FPSes to RPGs to companions to a city living game, it has a ton of different mods that can all do different things. However, there are also simpler mods called WADs that are simply maps. One of them is Monster Hunter LTD Part 1.

To install Monster Hunter LTD Part 1, you need to have GZDoom. Then, copy the .pk3 file into the GZDoom folder and drag it on top of the GZDoom.exe to start playing.

This is a fantastic adventure map, mainly because of the fidelity of the locales. The map creator put a ton of effort into the environment, utilizing a ton of custom textures to sell the industrial buildings, the urban decay, and some calmer bedroom and home areas that provide some much-needed contrast to sell how relatable the environment is.

There is a downside with this that comes from the fact that the custom textures are so detailed that there's a ton of noise to wade through if you're trying to just pathfind your way to the end. It's hard to find switches and levers when they're in the middle of a ton of bricks. And unfortunately, it's hard to enjoy the environment when there's a constant stream of enemies trying to murder you. 

Overall, Monster Hunter LTD Part 1 is an incredible map that any DOOM fan should give a shot.
