There is a state most modern CPUs have built-in called CPU parking. This is basically a sleep mode for CPUs, much like how your computer goes into standby mode. However, there may be some times where you don't want it to be parked. For instance, when you're running a benchmark, you may want all your CPU cores online to get a proper reading on it. Or when you're playing games, you want to utilize its full capacity. ParkControl is a program to help you do exactly that.

There's no installation sequence for ParkControl. Just unzip the executable wherever you want and run it. This makes it portable, as you can also slap it onto a USB drive and take it anywhere you go. The program doesn't update the registry with new entries or modify the hard drive in any way, so its presence is gone as soon as you remove it.

The interface is fairly standard. The most standout thing is the CPU status on the right side of the screen, represented by two large meters. You can ask the program to show park settings in the Power Options area. You can commit new changes easily by clicking a single time, however, there's no option to revert to default settings, so you should take note if you want to maybe do that down the line.

ParkControl applies its changes quickly and takes up minimal amounts of resources to do its job. There were no hangups, crashes, or errors in my time using it. Overall. it should please anybody who's looking for a program exactly like it.
