Sin City 1.0

DOOM is one of the oldest FPSes in existence, and its engine is famously so robust that it can run on pretty much anything and also create pretty much anything.  From FPSes to RPGs to companions to a city living game, it has a ton of different mods and maps that can all do different things. One of the many is Sin City.

Installing Sin City is simple. You need to have ZDoom and move the WAD file into the ZDoom folder, which is pretty par for the course for DOOM maps.

This map has no included plot. There are only implications, where the UAC are trying to reconnect with the doomed Deimos base after previous events in one of the many maps under a project named "Sin City". You aren't going to be playing this map for the plot.

You'll quickly notice that this map is well designed and has a ton of different tricks used that most maps don't have. For instance...slopes. Yes, that doesn't seem like an important thing, but do keep in mind that many maps don't have these even to this day. What's more important is the layout - there are a lot of semi-circles and rounded edges that create an organic-looking fortress with blood splash pools and plenty of grated windows that you can see through so the map has an interconnected feel.

Overall, Sin City is a fantastic map that plays extremely well. Its setpieces and pacing make it a must play for any DOOM fans.
