Metal Gear Solid is one of the most prolific and famous stealth series of all times, but its fanbase would be the first to tell you that there's a lot about the series that is incredibly silly. From some incredibly long-winded cutscenes to some hilariously Japanese tongue in cheek jokes and absurdities. UnMetal parodies the series, but you'll find it has to go far to parody the crazy series.
To install UnMetal, simply unzip the files into a folder of your choosing and run the executable.
The game is framed as a flashback, and as you play the game, the character will narrate your actions. If you get caught and get taken down, he will explain how he played dead, healed himself, and got back up. This constant narration is also very useful for progression. Much like its source material, the game will also constantly cut back to the character in conversation with the government agent, with the cutscene taking an obscene amount of time to finish in relation to the gameplay.
Gameplay wise, it's very much reminiscent of Metal Gear Solid 1. It's a top-down overhead game where you have to hide behind surfaces to sneak past the guards of the facility. It's not all that difficult to finish, and you won't spend that much time trying to find a path forward.
The game also packs a couple of amusing plot twists that really add to the experience as a Metal Gear Solid parody. If any of this sounds appealing, you should definitely give UnMetal a download.
