Are you an experienced with troubleshooting unfinished software? Help test out the new version of Windows as Microsoft reveals their new version of the operating system with Windows 10 offering an array of new features and demanded upgrades to the operating system that the previous releases lacked or did not touch upon very well. It is best to keep in mind that this is the rough technical preview release of the operating system that you are able to test out for free. It is also worth noting that you should be experienced with testing unfinished software and are comfortable troubleshooting issues with the Windows operating system before you consider downloading the release onto your PC. It is also recommend that you do not use this as your main operating system, and should install this on a separate computer, separate hard drive, or a separate partition.
Just like with any software in early development that gets released to testing purposes, you get to test out an array of new features Microsoft plans to officially release in the official version of Windows 10 and should report anything you find to Microsoft. These features are not finished, and many final touches and effects will be added to these new features before the official release of Windows 10. Keeping that in mind, testing these new features and reporting the bugs you find within the technical preview will help Microsoft improve the operating system for it's official release. You can help find these bugs by downloading this technical preview.
Of the many new features being added includes the new start menu. This version of the start menu is very similar to the one that you have gotten used to in older versions of Windows prior to Windows 8. Microsoft has brought a very similar version of the start menu back to Windows 10 to satisfy veteran and enterprise users that were not very satisfied by the new start menu interface added into Windows 8. Virtual desktops have also been added to the mix of new features to help increase your productivity while using Windows 10. You are also able to use Modern UI applications cleanly on the desktop with the ability to use them in a window, or full screened, all from the new start menu. It seems Microsoft has been paying extra attention to the high demand from consumers with the Windows 8 release and have made the integration of the Modern UI a lot more seamless, as well as the transition between the Modern UI (new start menu) and the classic desktop interface to make Windows 10 seem a lot more put together and connected.
