Low budget indie games tend to be some of the most creative around, assuming they aren't just flipping assets poorly in Unity. Without the budget to create an epic, the creators instead need to focus on one unique feature to make their games stick out. From these restrictions come some truly inventive concepts. One of them is Anglerfish, which is about a man in a zebra mask who goes on a massive rampage after being experimented on.
To play Anglerfish, simply run the executable after unzipping it to a folder.
You're at the Anglerfish bar as part of stag night, and you have to collect as many ladies' numbers as possible. A feat that is probably made more difficult by the fact that you and your friends have decided to dress up as sexy school girls as part of a gag, and also the fact that the Anglerfish seems to be haunted by something supernatural.
I don't want to say too much about the game's story, so I won't. But I must say, the atmosphere is simply exquisite. The bar itself is filled with eerie music that also seems to fit in with it being a bar, and everybody being faceless makes everything seem that much more eerie. The pixel art adds a ton of atmosphere to the point where I don't think any other style would have been quite as effective.
All in all, if you want to play a game with an incredibly unique premise, then you should give Anglerfish a download.
