Low budget indie games tend to be some of the most creative around, assuming they aren't just flipping assets poorly in Unity. Without the budget to create an epic, the creators instead need to focus on one unique feature to make their games stick out. From these restrictions come some truly inventive concepts. One of them is Project Afterlife, which is about scientists who can bring the dead back to life momentarily to ask them what the afterlife has in store for us.
To play Project Afterlife, simply run the executable after unzipping it to a folder.
This game is an adaptation of a nosleep story from reddit, which revolves around a scientist's journal about an experiment that was run where they brought back the dead after three days to ask them what happens after death. The journal documents three different subjects and what they said. As one might expect from a horror game, they don't have anything good to say.
This is less of a game and more of a visual novel. The RPG Maker graphics contribute greatly to the visuals, atmosphere, and the story being told, but may mislead you into thinking that it's an RPG game. Instead, you're pretty much just reading the dialogue box and clicking next. Those who are looking for a unique and engaging gaming experience should very much avoid this title.
All in all, if you want to play a game with an incredibly unique premise, then you should give Project Afterlife a download.
