Miro is an open source media player which is a very handy and convenient place to store all your downloaded music and video files but it also offers much more.
Miro supports nearly every file format you can think of including AVI, MPEG, MP3, MOV, ASF, WMV, DTS, OGG, MKV, 3GP, 3G2, FLV and more plus it also supports torrents on top of that you can even use it to browse YouTube, DailyMotion and many other media sites, you can browse these sites directly through the Miro interface.
The layout is simple, clear and easy to use and although you do have to suffer the occasional advert on the interface but it is a small price to pay for a free media player with so many features.
You can also shop for MP3’s direct from the amazon store and the left hand side also offers other sources where you can obtain music and videos such as hulu and PBS and lower down in the same taskbar it also offers you some of the most popular podcast channels.
Miro is a free download and offers an incredible amount of features for a free….well its difficult to say media player as it offers much more than just a media player as it can also be used to source your media files.
