While the default Windows Explorer does its job competently enough, there are a ton of upgrades and quality of life improvements that users of Windows have been clamoring for over the years. Microsoft has promised these features will come with time, but other than a few unreleased beta periods, there haven't been any official releases. People have gotten annoyed with the wait and have taken it upon themselves to create what they want, and Tablacus Explorer is one of those programs.
Tablacus Explorer is a completely free file management program that resembles Windows Explorer but comes with a ton more features. On initial bootup, it shows off a bunch of tabs that let you explorer multiple areas of your system simultaneously. You can also use a drop-down list just like in Windows Explorer to jump to several destinations as well. You can lock the tabs so you won't accidentally close them down the line, close all tabs except for the selected one, or just close tabs that are adjacent to the current tab.
There are a couple of view modes as well - Extra large, large, medium, small icons, list, details, tiles, or content. The best part about the multi-tabbed environment is that you can set each of these view options, and many more, to each individual tab. On top of that, you can also install a wide range of add-ons that add even more features and settings to the program, something that's very much appreciated. All these features and general quality make it very easy to recommend Tablacus Explorer .
