Downloading videos off of file sharing websites are, by and large, pretty unsupported by whoever owns those sites. Yes, Youtube mobile lets you download files and watch them offline, but that feature seems to be totally missing on their actual website. It's understandable why they do this - piracy is bad, after all - but that hasn't stopped people from wanting the feature all the same. There are tons of programs out there that let you do exactly that, and VSO Downloader is one of them. Unfortunately, it's not as simple as it wants you to believe.

VSO Downloader advertises itself on one simple premise - it automatically detects and downloads any file you're watching on a streaming website and downloads them. And for that purpose, great! It works as intended. It completely bypasses the URL insertion step and streamlines the process. Normally, I would stop there and call it a good program, and recommend it to you. Unfortunately, this program is its own worst enemy.

It constantly, and I do mean constantly, advertise other VSO programs to you while you're using it. It's insanely annoying, mainly due to the fact that this other software actually shore up the program's own shortcomings. Can't download files efficiently? Go download VSO's File downloader to fix that! Want to convert your files to a proper format? Go download VSO's file converter! It's tiring and completely defeats the purpose of a free piece of software - it can run you up to 80 dollars. That's why I can't recommend this program in good conscience.
