Point and click games used to be all the craze until around the 2010s. Now, they're usually relegated to mid size productions or simple indie titles. The genre also proved incredibly popular among flash game creators, due to the relatively simple planning and programming that goes into such a game. Mateusz Skutnik is one of the best creators of the genre. However, he's been known to branch out occasionally, and he loves using his yearly series to experiment. That's how we got Where is 2011?
To play Where is 2011?, just run it with whatever SWF player you have.
This game takes after his 10 Gnomes series in many ways. It also uses a photorealistic background where a ton of objects are hidden, and you have to track them down. Also like the Gnome series is how each of the objects you're trying to find doesn't appear on the screen until you happen to zoom in on the right area, meaning that the game is more of an exhaustive clickfest rather than an observational challenge.
Unlike the Gnome series, however, there is no time limit at play here, meaning that you can take all the time in the world and enjoy the atmosphere and some of the more creative placements of items.
If you're a veteran of point-and-click games, you should definitely give Where is 2011? a try.
