Point and click games used to be all the craze until around the 2010s. Now, they're usually relegated to mid size productions or simple indie titles. The genre also proved incredibly popular among flash game creators, due to the relatively simple planning and programming that goes into such a game. Mateusz Skutnik is one of the best creators of the genre. However, he's been known to branch out occasionally, and he loves using his yearly series to experiment. That's how we got Where is 2013?
To play Where is 2013?, just run it with whatever SWF player you have.
This game is a strange blend of some of Skutnik's most well-known series, taking elements from Submachine, 10 Gnomes, and a bit of Garden Door. It takes place on a photorealistic background while also featuring Submachine style puzzles, while also featuring 10 collectibles much like 10 Gnomes had, only these collectibles have an important story reason for being there as well.
The setting is creepy - it takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, except the apocalypse in mind left much of the natural environment alive. You navigate through a completely empty yet beautiful forest trying to restore power so your people can continue communicating with each other. The atmosphere is incredibly gripping and you'll find yourself staring at every environment.
If you're a veteran of point-and-click games, you should definitely give Where is 2013? a try.
