What is new here?

1.14.1 is a bugfix update to the version 1.14. You can give it a shot here with this Minecraft download 1.14. What the patch brought was a massive overhaul to the village mechanics in the game. It completely redesigns village architecture to match the biome they're in - for example, desert villages are now built with sandstone instead of just being another boring village. It also adds a new subset of illagers called pillagers that will attack you with crossbows, giving illagers even more threats. It also introduces new mobs and biomes. For instance, you can now find foxes and sweet berries in the taiga biome, and you'll also find pandas and bamboos in the new bamboo jungle biome.

There are also a ton of new crafting recipes revolving around these new items. Bamboo is incredibly useful and can be used to craft scaffolding, one of the most useful blocks in the game for construction purposes. These blocks are specifically made to make building large buildings easy. You can extend them out to the side and stand on top of them, easily climb up and down them like you would a ladder, except as a block, and if you hit a giant stack from the bottom, the entire tower will fall down at once. This cuts down on a whole ton of time you'd need to spend tearing it back down after you're done, as well as saving resources due to the lack of a need for a ladder.

Another new item is the bell. This is incredibly important for the new village mechanics. The bell is where all the villagers in a village will meet every day, and also serves as an alarm. If you hit it, it will wake up all nearby sleeping villagers and will also apply a glowing effect to all raiding illagers to make them easier targets.

There are also a ton of blocks added that specifically relate to village jobs. These blocks are known as job blocks, and exist to give a villager roles. These roles determine what they do every single day, and more importantly, what they have to trade with you. Speaking of trading - that's also a new mechanic. You can now trade items for emeralds with villagers, and they will level up every time you trade, giving them rarer and rarer items. These are near essential if you want to get powerful endgame enchantments. Give it all shot here with this Minecraft download 1.14.
